Taking Things Personally

Taking Things Personally

When I take things others say or do personally, I find myself quickly pulled away from being emotionally sober.

I go to a place where I can feel wronged, belittled, stupid, afraid, angry, etc.

I find myself judging myself or others.

When I take things personally I am pulled quickly from my heart and directly into a dark and lonely cave in my head.

With wisdom I see that "taking things personally" is something I learned and have adopted into my thoughts and behaviour.

For the month of September I'm going to examine how often I take things personally and work towards reparenting myself by focusing on a different message I can tell myself, one which is more loving and compassionate.

My goal is not so much NOT to take things personally, but rather to be more aware of how often I do take things personally for 30 days and having a deeper understanding of what the underlying message is for me.

Feel free to join me!

Be kind and gentle with yourself,
