Imagine, inviting your feelings in for a friendly chat over tea.

Getting to know them. Their purpose.

This is the story of a man who ran away from his sadness his entire life.

And then one day, his curiosity got the better of him and he invited “Sadness” in for a cup of tea.

This is their conversation.

Ron Chelsvig

Author

Ron Chelsvig is currently working on becoming the best human being he can be.

He brings great compassion, acceptance and honesty to his life experience, openly sharing this spirit with those he reaches. Be it in his professional service, artistic or healing expression, Ron’s work helps people open their hearts to themselves.

Ron was born and raised in Story City, a small farm community in Iowa, where his love for writing stories and drawing pictures started with the encouragement of a kind-hearted elementary school teacher. Ron has lived much of his adult life in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he obtained a Master’s degree in physical therapy and has focused most of his professional life in the healing arts, working mainly with an impoverished population in the inner city. He is also an active member of a Sufi community in Philadelphia.

Ron has always had a deep love for writing, poetry, song-writing, music, photography, art and helping people. He is a mentor to many, a life coach, and an IFS practitioner. He is often invited to speak to groups, with a message focused on learning to love ourselves and what gets in the way of that pursuit. He also bakes pie.

His influences include, but not limited to Brené Brown, Rumi, Pema Chödrön, Tara Brach, Bawa Muhaiyaddeen, Tom Rapp, The Beatles, Calvin & Hobbes and, of course, Winnie-the-Pooh.
